Connect to a Cluster
Preconditions for Adding Nodes
On the node you start the cluster configuration the HSM needs to be initialized.
You can only add newly set up nodes to which no one has yet logged in.
If you add a node that has not been newly provisioned, an error message is displayed after you click on Fetch TLS Fingerprint.
If you want to add a new cluster node to an existing cluster, all existing nodes must be connected.
We recommend configuring NTP via Terminal User Interface (TUI) for the new node that should join a cluster. This guarantees that no one has logged in to Webconf and the appliance retains its initial factory state. To enter the TUI, connect a Monitor and a Keyboard to the Next Generation Hardware Appliance.
Configure Network Time Protocol (NTP) Server
The NTP server is configured via the TUI. NTP is used to synchronize the clock of the appliance with a trusted time source. It is recommended to use several trusted NTP servers if possible.
Add/Remove NTP Servers:
Connect a monitor and keyboard to the running Next Generation Hardware Appliance. Use the keyboard to navigate through the TUI menu.
To log in: use keys:
alt/option
+arrow_left/arrow_right/f1/f2
.In the TUI go on the top line from Status to Network Settings.
To add a NTP Server in the TUI go to Add NTP Server next to Overview.
Under IP address enter the IPv4 address of the NTP server.
To confirm your settings chose Add in the last row.
Repeat step 4 and 5 for every NTP server you want to add.
In the Overview now all NTP Servers are listed.
Here you can Move entry by using the up/down arrows,
Remove an entry with the Delete key if wanted or
Deselect a selected entry with the ESC key.
To confirm your settings chose Save changes in the last row.
