EJBCA Software Appliance 2.6 Release Notes

MAY 2024

We are pleased to announce the release of EJBCA Software Appliance 2.6.

This release brings an updated version of EJBCA Enterprise, support for Utimaco Anchor, and signed audit logs. The release also brings the ability to use Luna HSM partitions with enabled Functionality Modules (FM).

New version of EJBCA Enterprise

EJBCA Enterprise has been updated to version 8.3.1. For more information, see the EJBCA Release Notes.

Support for Utimaco Anchor

EJBCA Software Appliance 2.6 now supports Utimaco Anchor. This integration allows you to utilize the advanced features of the Utimaco Anchor seamlessly with our platform.

Audit Log Signing

EJBCA Software Appliance 2.6 features Audit Log Signing, significantly enhancing data security and audit capabilities, ensuring your database and logs are safeguarded against tampering and unauthorized access.

With the introduction of digital signatures on audit logs, every log entry is now verifiable and protected against modification, ensuring the integrity of your records with tamper-proof audit logs.

Enhanced Luna HSM integration with enabled Functionality Modules (FM)

The new Luna HSM feature allows you to select to connect to partitions on Luna HSMs with Functionality Modules (FM) enabled directly from Webconf. This enhancement simplifies the process and allows for seamless integration and improved flexibility in your HSM management.

Improvements and Corrections

The following lists other improvements and corrections included in the release.

  • Enhanced Cluster Management: Resolves issues with the "Force into Primary" functionality, ensuring it operates correctly after node restoration and VPN disconnection.
  • Maintenance Mode: Allows you to shut down the application (EJBCA) to prevent anyone from accessing the application during HSM maintenance, for example.
  • Factory Reset: Restores the appliance to its original factory settings. This feature is particularly useful for test installations, enabling testing different scenarios without the need to reinstall the virtual machine in the hypervisor.
