Signum Agents

The Signum agents work by leveraging Microsoft's Key Storage Provider (KSP) interface in Windows, PKCS11 for Linux, and Keychain for macOS. The Windows Agent comes as an installable .msi and can be configured to operate with an interactive user interface or in a CLI server mode. The Linux Agent is available as a .deb or .rpm package and operates with a CLI only. The macOS agent is installable as a package that includes a CLI tool for configuring the client.

Once users or machines have successfully authenticated to Signum through the agents, they have access to certificates allowed by the roles and policies defined in Signum.

Agent Updates

Agent binaries are available from the Keyfactor Customer Portal at https://portal.az.keyfactorsaas.com/login.

See the following table below for information about managing versions of the Signum Agents and Server. The general guidance is that Server Versions can be greater than Agent version. However, Agent versions cannot be greater than the Server Version unless the Major/Minor versions match. To reduce the number of Agent versions to manage, and if there are no changes to the Agents, matching versions of the Agents may not always be released with each update.
