EJBCA Community 9.3 Release Notes

COMMUNITY EDITION DEC 2025

The EJBCA team is pleased to announce the release of EJBCA Community Edition 9.3, the latest update to our open-source PKI platform.

This latest community release includes several new features, including support for OAuth, the quantum-safe SLH-DSA algorithm, and new versions of Java, WildFly, and Bouncy Castle.

These release notes cover new EJBCA Community features and improvements implemented between EJBCA Community 9.1 and EJBCA Community 9.3.7.

Highlights

OAuth available in EJBCA Community Edition

EJBCA Community 9.3 adds support for OAuth as an authentication method alongside client certificate–based authentication. OAuth was previously available only in EJBCA Enterprise Edition.

NIST Approved Quantum-Safe Algorithm SLH-DSA

Support for the NIST approved quantum-safe algorithm SLH-DSA as specified in FIPS 205 has been added. The algorithm can be used with twelve different parameter sets as specified in Interoperability and Certifications.

Support for Java 21, WildFly 35, and Bouncy Castle upgrade

EJBCA Community 9.3 introduces support for Java 21, requiring a minimum of version 21.0.5. This release also adds support for WildFly 35 and upgrades Bouncy Castle to version 1.80.
