Definition of the Smart Cards

Administration Smart Card

The Administration Smart Card is the card that has all administrative rights.
All transactions made possible by the PIN Pad can be carried out with this card.
The Administration Smart Card is used to initialize and decommission slots in the HSM.

The Smart Card Management offers the following actions in the PIN Pad Operations section:

• Change the PIN on a Backup Protection Smart Card

• Clone Backup Protection Smart Card

• Change PIN on Administration Smart Card

• Set as Default PIN Pad

Smart Card Activation (SCA)

SCA offers the option of protecting slot management locally and/or externally with PIN Pads and Smart Cards that are operated by authorized users.

• HSM Guided Setup using SCA

• Initialize Slot with SCA via Slot Management
