Backup and Restore the Hypervisor

The following are some best practices and instructions for backing up and restoring your Software Appliance, depending on the hypervisor you are using.

General best practices for backups:

• Make sure that you have a current backup copy of the data disk

• Perform backups on a regular basis

• Remember to backup the HSM

The recommended way to create a Backup or perform a Restore for the Software Appliance is to use the corresponding functions in Webconf.

Backups can as well be performed outside the Software Appliance.
Backup routines depend on the hypervisor, storage format and other dependencies used.
