EJBCA Hardware Appliance 5.0 Release Notes

We are pleased to announce the release of EJBCA Hardware Appliance 5.0.

This release brings major improvements to the technologies used, hardened security, and an improved user experience. We are happy to announce that starting from this version, the Hardware Appliance is delivered with Luna S790 as a built-in HSM.

Highlights

Starting from version 5.0, the Hardware Appliance is delivered in two variants:

• Luna S790 Hardware Appliance

• U.trust SE100/SE2K Hardware Appliance

For both variants, we deliver a new version of EJBCA:

• EJBCA Enterprise 9.2.1, see the EJBCA 9.2.1 Release Notes.

Luna S790 Hardware Appliance Enhancements

The Luna S790 Hardware Appliance introduces several new features and improvements, including:

• HSM configuration and management directly from the user interface

• HSM monitoring via the user interface and through SNMP

• Clustering

• Local and remote PED usage

• Local and remote HSM backup device usage

• Adjusted appliance backup process

Improvements and Corrections

• Update to Yocto Scarthgap

• Bug Fixes:

  • Nameserver setup is not required to build a cluster.

  • Adjustments made to internal DNS calls.
