Manual Backup

For appliances with an Luna S790 HSM be aware that the backup for the HSM must be taken separately. See HSM Backup for more information.

  1. Log in to Next Generation Hardware Appliance.

  2. Open the Backup page.

  3. Make sure you have set a Domain Master Secret (DMS).

  4. Confirm your configured Backup Storage Location.

  5. In Webconf the Manual Backup section appears at the bottom of the Backup page.

  6. Click Manual Backup to reopen the storage browser.

  7. Select a storage location for the manual backup.

    • OPTIONAL: Backup Additions
      In the Additional Notes field, enter any additional information to add to this backup.
      This information can be found later in the list of Backup Details in the Notes line.

  8. Click Backup Now to trigger a backup on the current storage location.

  9. In Webconf in the section Backup Status, the following is displayed in the Backup Status Information table:

  • Current Backup Status

BACKUP IN PROGRESS

  • Last Successful Backup

    • The timestamp in minutes/hours/days, etc., since the last successful backup.

  1. As soon as the backup is complete, it will switch to NOT RUNNING.

  2. Browse for the NFS URL or USB drive URL to see the latest backup in your directory.

    • Storage Information is displayed on the right hand side of the screen:

      • Permission: e.g. read, write

      • Used Disk Space: xx,x GB/TB

      • Remaining Disc Space: xx,x GB/TB

      • Total Disc Space: xx,x GB/TB

    • The Backup Details are displayed in a table divided into Name and Value:

      • Filename:

      • Version: e.g. 5.2.2 xxxx

      • File Size: xx.x MB/GB

      • Creation: timestamp of the backup

      • Product: e.g. EJBCA/SignServer Hardware Appliance

      • Database: e.g. Internal Database

      • HSM Driver: e.g. Utimaco PCI HSM (version)

      • Notes: the additional information entered previously

The Manual Backup is successful.
