HSM Slot Backup

There are two destinations to choose from for the HSM Slot backup:

  • Local HSM Backup Device

  • Remote HSM Backup Destination

For more information see HSM Backup Device

For the following procedure, make sure that a connected and initialized backup device and the required PED Keys are within reach.

Create a Backup

The HSM Slot backup is triggered from Webconf for each slot.

There are two options to trigger a backup:

  • Slot Backup via HSM Backup Management.

  • Slot Backup via Luna PCI HSM Configuration.

Only the first steps differ between the two approaches. As soon as the use of the backup device becomes relevant, the procedures are identical.
