Tutorials

Tutorials are end-to-end walkthroughs that take you from start to finish on a specific real-world task. Unlike the reference pages in Signum Admin Web Console or the tool-focused Signing Guides, each tutorial here connects multiple parts of Signum into one coherent workflow: admin setup, user configuration, agent installation, and the signing task itself.

If you are brand new to Signum, start with Getting Started before working through a tutorial.

Available Tutorials

Sign Windows Files with Certificate Authentication and SignTool

Set up certificate-based authentication from scratch and sign a Windows executable using signtool.exe. Covers importing a signing certificate, creating a Certificate User Domain, creating a cert-authenticated user, building a policy, installing the Windows Agent in Server Mode, and verifying the signature.

Platform: Windows · Auth method: Certificate · Signing tool: SignTool

Monitor Certificate Expiry and Renew a Signing Certificate

Configure email alerts so you are notified before a signing certificate expires, then walk through the full renewal workflow: generating a new CSR against the existing key slot, importing the replacement certificate, and verifying your policies and agents pick it up automatically with no signing downtime.

Platform: All · Admin task: Alerting + certificate lifecycle

What makes a tutorial different from a guide?

The Signing Guides answer the question "how do I sign X with tool Y?”, assuming Signum is already set up and focus on a specific tool or file format. Tutorials answer "how do I accomplish this whole scenario?", covering the admin-side setup and the end-user experience together, including everything that needs to be in place before the first signing command runs.

If you know your way around Signum but need a specific signing command, go to Signing Guides. If you are setting something up for the first time or working through an unfamiliar scenario end-to-end, start here.
