Configure Static IPv4 and/or IPv6 Addresses

Configure Static IPv4 and/or IPv6 Addresses

If there is no DHCP server on your network, you can use the Terminal UI to configure static IP addresses. Proceed as follows:

  1. Open the Terminal UI. The Status overview will be displayed.
  2. Use the arrow or TAB keys and the ENTER key to navigate to the Network Settings.
  3. Navigate to the desired IP protocol, that is, IPv4 or IPv6.
  4. Navigate to Add static IP.
  5. Fill in the information for Address, Subnet Prefix Length, and Gateway.
  6. The Subnet Prefix Length is preset to 24.
  7. Confirm your entries with < Add >.

The network is then reconfigured. This process takes about 30 seconds.
