General Operations

When you log in to the Software Appliance, it opens with the Overview page. Use this page and the menu bar to access all operations available for the Software Appliance.

The most important data is also summarized here.

Service Overview

• SNMP (default OFF).

• Syslog (default OFF).

• Backup (default OFF).

• HTTP EJBCA (should be ON).

• HTTPS EJBCA, Webconf (should be ON).

• VPN (should be ON, only displayed while clustering).

Click Configure Services to go straight to the Services page.

Application Overview

• EJBCA and its current version number.

• Admin Web button to enter the application.

• STOPPED is displayed if no HSM is initialized or the License is no longer valid.

• MAINTENANCE is displayed when HSM has been initialized, but application maintenance was triggered manually.

• RESTARTING HSM has been initialized, but the driver is restarting.

LICENSE information about the validity of the license used and the number of active certificates is displayed here.
LICENSE Please upload a valid license to start the application. Click Manage License.

HSM Overview

Here you will find information about the configured HSM.

• The name of the initialized HSM.

• Status: CONNECTED the HSM is initialized and ready for use.
  Status: NOT CONNECTED as long as the HSM has not been finally initialized.
  If a USB HSM device is connected, it will be displayed along with its serial number.

• Click Configure HSM to go straight to the Security page.

Database Overview

Here you will find all the information about:

• Status: (should be CONNECTED).

• Type: (is Internal Database).

• Disk Size: (displayed in GiB/GB*).

• Disk Usage: (displayed in % and GiB/GB*)

• Remaining Disk Space: (displayed in GiB/GB*).

* Displayed in bytes according to hard disk size. In this example GiB and GB. Switch between values by hovering the mouse over it. If the remaining disk space falls below 20 %, an error message is displayed.

Click Configure Database to go straight to the Applications page.

Recent Activities

Here you will find all the information about the recent activity. The last 10 entries can be displayed in this window. There is no limit to the number of entries.

Click < Previous or Next > to move back and forth between the different pages.

Device Overview

Here you will find all information about the connected devices.
Status: OPERATIONAL if the device is initialized and ready for use.

This page offers you a concise overview of the central aspects of the Software Appliance. Use the options to switch directly to the most important operations:

• Click Configure Services to switch to the Services page.

• Click Configure HSM to switch to the Security page.

• Click Configure Database to switch to the Applications page.

• Click any of the menu options described below to go to the respective pages.

Attention!

It is important that you always shut down the operating system properly. Never simply switch off the device. If the device is merely switched off, there is a risk of data loss.
