Settings: Factory Reset

The Next Generation Hardware Appliance can be set into Factory Reset Mode.

Be aware, that the Factory Reset will remove all data from the appliance!

After the Factory Reset you can Restore a Backup.

In order to perform a Factory Reset, you first need to trigger the External Erase button at the back of the Next Generation Hardware Appliance.

Attention, please make sure to not press the External Erase button longer than five seconds, to prevent getting the device into an unusable state!

Shortly after the External Erase button has been pressed, the grayed-out Factory Reset section is activated in Webconf and the following steps can be carried out.

  1. Log in to the Next Generation Hardware Appliance.

  2. Open the Settings page.

  3. In the section Factory Reset, click Erase All Data and Reset to Factory Settings.

  4. A warning appears:

  • Check mark: Yes, I want to reset this Appliance to factory settings

  • To confirm click: Execute Factory Reset

This process will take a couple of minutes.

The appliance will reboot as part of the factory reset process.
